The website dis-connect.de is operated by DIS-CONNECT GmbH, Gerwigstr. 29, 76131 Karlsruhe, which is responsible for the protection of data.
The protection of your personal data is taken very seriously when you visit the website or use its services. You will be informed about the collection, the processing and the use of your personal data below.
1. Personal data
Personal data is individual detail about personal or objective relations of an identified or identifiable natural person, such as name, address, phone number, mail address, bank details etc. Using personal data, one can draw conclusions regarding a person’s identity.
2. Technical and statistical evaluation
Any user access to a page of the internet offer on dis-connect.de and any data retrieval will lead to data being saved in a log file. This data is on the one hand used so that the visit of the website is technically possible, on the other hand this statistical data helps to improve the website’s design and layout. A person-related evaluation of the collected data does not take place. With every retrieval, the following data is saved:

- Name of the file retrieved
- Date, time of retrieval
- Volume of data
- Logging of success of retrieval
- Description of the type of web browser used
- Requesting domain and its country of origin
3. Collection, processing and use of person-related data during the use of our website
It is not necessary to reveal person-related data in order to use several basic functions of the website. If you specify further person-related data, you will always do this voluntarily.
Person-related data is collected when you indicate it at the opening of a user account. The corresponding web form will show the kind of data that is collected. A cancellation of the user account is possible at any time. In this case, please send us a notice to the contact given below. We both save and use your data to what is necessary to process the contract and to provide our services. When the contract is completely processed or the user account is cancelled, your data will be deleted in case you did not agree to a further handling and use of your data and in case there are no statutory storage obligations (otherwise your data is blocked).
Whenever you carry out a transaction with another user, we will pass on the person-related data we collected to this other user, if it is necessary for the conduction and completion of the transaction. This, for example, includes your contact, shipping and billing information and any other information that is necessary for the transaction’s reliability and security. If a transaction is stopped, if it fails or if it is declared invalid afterwards, we can also provide information about the unsuccessful transaction to the other user. During the processing of the order you might transmit data to third parties, for example if you want to pay for your order using PayPal.
We are also allowed to disclose your person-related data in order to comply with our legal obligations, to react to an authorized request of a government agency or in connection with a pending or future lawsuit as well as to protect our property, other people, other rights or interests.
4. Use of cookies
Cookies are small files that are saved on your data carrier and that themselves save certain settings or data via your browser for the exchange with our system. There are two different types of cookies, so-called Session-Cookies, which are deleted as soon as you close your browser, and temporal or permanent cookies, which are saved on your data carrier for a longer period of time. This website uses Matomo (formerlly known as Piwik), an open source software, which enables the statistical evaluation of visitor accesses. For this purpose, Matomo uses so-called “cookies” – text files that are saved on your computer and that permit an analysis of your use of the website. The usage information generated by this cookie is saved on our server in Germany. Your IP address is anonymized directly after the processing and before the retention. You can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting the appropriate settings in your browser software. Please note that you might not be able to take full advantage of all functions of our website if you change these settings.
6. Ordering our newsletter
Provided that you explicitly gave your consent, we use your email address and your voluntary statements about your person to send you our regular newsletter. We use the so-called Double-Opt-In-Technique, which means that after your registration we will send you a notification email and ask you to confirm your request using the respective link in the email. In order to receive our newsletter, you only need to provide your email address. Any other voluntary detail about your person merely serves to personalize the newsletter.
At the end of every newsletter there is a link where you can cancel the subscription to the newsletter. You can also unsubscribe via email to info@dis-connect.de.
